The 2015 EST Event Grant has been awarded to the inaugural Summer Interpreting and Translation Research Institute jointly organized by Gallaudet University and the University of Maryland, to be held in Washington D.C. on 2-7 August 2015.
This is the first time that the grant goes beyond Europe.
The EST’s financial contribution will be up to 1000 euros.
There were eight candidates for the EST Event Grant this year, including three proposals from outside Europe. Although all were excellent proposals and deserved support, Washington was selected in the hope that the event will significantly contribute to the development of Translation Studies in North America and become the first of a series of innovative summer schools bringing together participants from all over the world.
