The winning applicant is The Centre for Research in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics (CeLTA), the Faculty of Letters at Transilvania University of Braşov. One of the fields in their Centre is Translation Studies where nine academics have been recruited. This team of researchers is specialized mainly in TS and Contrastive Linguistics, covering Romanian, English, French, German and Spanish. Their research area is Corpus-based Translation Studies.
They appear to be an experienced team conducting many studies (with a long list of publications). “CeLTA’s strategy is now to foster collaborative work, being confident that more consistent and coherent cooperation among the team members would bring about large-scale, systematic research.” To this end they are working on a project entitled “Conceptualizing the recurrent features of the translational Romanian language based on parallel and comparable reference corpora”.
