The European Society for Translation Studies has selected the Greek scholar Kyriaki Kourouni as the winner of its 2011 Summer School Scholarship.
The Committee decided to award the 2011 Summer School Scholarship to Kyriaki Kourouni of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Her research project is on Translating Under Time Pressure: A Study of Translation Students. She will receive 1,000 euros to attend the 1st PhD Course in Translation Process Research organised by the Centre for Research and Innovation in Translation and Translation Technology (CRITT) at the Copenhagen Business School.
This year the Summer School Scholarship Committee comprised Iwona Mazur (chair), Barbara Ahrens, Alexandra Assis Rosa, Gyde Hansen, Franz Pöchhacker and Sonia Vandepitte. The committee received and carefully evaluated five applications. There was a very strong field of candidates, including the winner of the annual CETRA scholarship, who was thus considered ineligible for this scholarship.
